Ms Michelle Applebaum Ms Michelle Applebaum

Managing Partner, Steel Market Intelligence

Ms. Applebaum spent over 20 years at Salomon Brothers, in New York and Chicago. During her years on Wall Street, Ms. Applebaum was the top-rated steel industry analyst according to the prestigious Institutional Investor All-Star poll. During that time she served as an advisor to the country’s largest money managers and performed as part of the investment banking team advising corporations on over 2-dozen initial and secondary public offerings, mergers and acquisitions. During her tenure at Salomon, Ms. Applebaum was able to maintain her #1 ranking in the steel sector while the firm maintained #1 ranked position in underwriting both debt and equity securities. Ms. Applebaum is regularly quoted in publications such as The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. She makes frequent appearances on the business programs of CNN and CNBC, and was a featured guest on Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser. Ms. Applebaum has a BS in Economics from Northwestern University and a MBA in Accounting and Finance from the Kellogg School of Business. She currently lives in Chicago with her husband, 3 children and 2 dogs.

Mark L. Breckheimer was named President, Heavy Carbon Group of Kloeckner Metals US on July 1, 2011. Prior to that Mark was Executive Vice President of Namasco Corporation which he joined in 2007 after spearheading the sale of Primary Steel LLC as President & CEO to Kloeckner/Namasco. Mark has been in the steel business for 34 years beginning his career in 1978 in sales at steel producer Phoenix Steel Corporation. Mark graduated from Bucknell University in 1977, lives in Chicago, is the father of three grown children and serves as a director on several industrial boards including Kloeckner USA Holdings Corp.

Kloeckner Metals US is the USA business unit of Kloeckner Metals SE. Kloeckner Metals US resulted from the combination of Namasco Corporation and Macsteel Service Centers USA in 2011. Kloeckner Metals SE is the largest producer independent distributor of Metals in the world operating over 250 locations on three continents with worldwide revenues in excess of $10 billion US.


Mr Keith Busse Mr Keith Busse

Chairman, Steel Dynamics Inc.

Keith Busse is the Chairman of Steel Dynamics, Inc, a company he founded with two colleagues in 1993. From the time of its founding until May 2007, he served as President and CEO. He has been a director of the company since it went public in November 1996.

Prior to starting SDI, Mr. Busse joined Nucor Corp in 1972 as an accountant, served in various management positions, and achieved the rank of GM and VP. At Nucor in the late 1980s, he led the team at Crawfordsville, Indiana, that built and successfully operated the world’s first “thin-slab” producing minimill for sheet steel production.

Mr. Busse holds a Bachelor’s degree in business finance from Saint Francis College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana University. He has been awarded an honorary doctorate in business by the University of Saint Francis and an honorary doctorate of engineering from Purdue University.


Mr Thomas Danjczek Mr Thomas Danjczek

President, Steel Manufacturers Association

Thomas A. Danjczek joined the Steel Manufacturers Association as President in February 1998. The SMA consists of 37 North American companies that operate 128 steel plants and employ approximately 60,000 people. The SMA is the primary trade association for scrap-based electric arc furnace steelmakers, representing approximately 70% of the steel produced in the US. The SMA has 138 associate members that supply goods and services to the steel industry.

Prior to the SMA, Mr. Danjczek was an executive with Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He joined Wheeling as General Superintendent - Steelmaking in 1983. Since 1991, he held senior management positions, including President - Mingo Oxygen Company, Director - Business Improvement, General Manager - Steubenville Plants, General Manager - Primary Operations and Hot Bands, and General Manager - Quality and Technology. From 1970 to 1983, he was a manager with Bethlehem Steel Corp and Kaiser Steel Corp.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Villanova University and a Master’s degree in Industrial Management at Purdue University. He participated in the University of Michigan Executive Management Program.


Mr Jeremy Flack Mr Jeremy Flack

Jeremy Flack, Founder and President

Jeremy K. Flack is the founder and president of Flack Steel. He previously served as the co-owner, president, and treasurer of Lawson Steel, where he managed the company’s sales, sales force, purchasing and operations. In 2010, he divested his interests in Lawson to establish Flack Steel.

Prior to joining Lawson Steel in 1998, Flack was the chief financial officer and treasurer of Encore Manufacturing Corp. in Cleveland. From 1992 to 1995, Flack worked as a commercial banking officer in the real estate banking division of PNC Bank in Pittsburgh.

Flack is a cum laude graduate of Miami University with a bachelor’s degree in finance, and holds an MBA from Cleveland State University. Flack completed National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) courses and the Counsel of Smaller Enterprises (COSE) Strategic Planning Course.


Mr C. Lourenco Goncalves Mr C. Lourenco Goncalves

Chairman, President and CEO, Metals USA Holdings Corp.

C. Lourenco Goncalves is the Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of Metals USA Holdings. He has been Metals USA’s CEO since February 2003. Prior to that, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of California Steel Industries, Inc. (“CSI”) from March 1998 to February 2003. From 1981 to 1998, he was employed by Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (“CSN”), where he held several positions, such as Managing Director and General Superintendent of Volta Redonda Works. Mr. Goncalves also serves on the board of directors of Ascometal, a major European producer of special steels, headquartered in Paris, France.

Mr. Goncalves earned a Masters of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and a Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Military Institute of Engineering in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.


Mr Joseph Innace Mr Joseph Innace

Joe Innace is editorial director of Steel at Platts, responsible for global content and coverage of news and pricing.

Joe joined Platts in the fall of 2006 as part of a steel-market initiative to develop benchmark pricing, news coverage and editorial products. Steel Markets Daily was launched January 29, 2007. He served as its chief editor at Platts and was appointed global editorial director when Platts and Steel Business Briefing merged in July 2011.

Prior to joining Platts, Joe was managing director at World Steel Dynamics, where he researched and wrote many of the company’s key steel-sector studies.

He has been involved in steel since 1979, covering the industry and its markets as a business journalist—initially with 33 Metal Producing magazine, which was owned by The McGraw-Hill Companies at the time.

Joe is a winner of a Jesse H. Neal national award for excellence in reporting from the American Business Press (1983). He is also a McGraw-Hill Corporate Achievement award recipient (2010).

Over the years, Joe’s work has also appeared in publications including Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, Nation’s Business, USA Today and others. He’s also co-author of the book, Igniting Steel: Korea’s POSCO Lights the Way, published in 1992.


Mr Micah Jacobs Mr Micah Jacobs

Steel Commodity Buyer, Honeywell

Since 1992, Micah Jacobs has worked in manufacturing in various roles; quality, engineering change, purchasing, international supplier development and project management. His use of eAuctions began early in his career and continues today. He built a competitive quote package by increasing the qualified mills for his buy while decreasing the specification to an ASTM standard. He has purchased hot rolled, tin coated/tin plated, CRS and EG for Fram since 2006 successfully achieving annual fixed pricing for an estimated volume.

Micah has a BS from Purdue and MBA from the University of Dayton.


Mr Sergei Kuznetsov Mr Sergei Kuznetsov

CEO, Severstal International and Severstal North America

Sergei A. Kuznetsov has been CEO of both Severstal International and Severstal North America since July 2009 with responsibility for OAO Severstal's operations in the United States, Italy and France. He first joined OAO Severstal in 2002 to head the business planning group created to acquire international assets and develop international projects. In 2004 he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Severstal North America, and, in 2008, became CFO of OAO Severstal in Moscow, Russia.

Mr. Kuznetsov also holds a seat on the board of directors of OAO Severstal. Prior to joining Severstal, he worked at the State Owned Foreign Trade Association Promsyrioimport and the Steel Trading Section of the Moscow office of Cargill Enterprises.

Mr. Kuznetsov graduated from Bauman Moscow State Technical University where he majored in engineering. He holds a master of business administration degree in finance from California State University.


Mr Ben Laaper Mr Ben Laaper

Independent Steel Consultant.

Until recently Ben was the Vice President – Global Sourcing for Accuride Corporation in Evansville where he worked for the past 15 years. Ben is the author of the book “Procurement Reengineering” (PT Publications).

Ben is past president of the Central Pennsylvania chapter of the National Association of Purchasing Management (now ISM) and is a frequent after-dinner speaker at both ISM and APICS Chapters. He attained his Six Sigma Black Belt, CPM and CPIM certifications.

Ben is a native from the Netherlands who came to the USA upon his graduation from college.


Mr Mark Millett Mr Mark Millett

President & CEO, Steel Dynamics

Mark Millett assumed the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Steel Dynamics, effective January 1, 2012. One of the co-founders of Steel Dynamics, Mark has held a variety of senior management positions and has served on the board of directors since the inception of the company in 1993. In April 2011, Mark was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer.

In August 2008, Mark was named Executive Vice President for Metals Recycling and Ferrous Resources, as well as President and Chief Operating Officer of OmniSource Corporation, the metals-recycling business SDI had acquired in late 2007. As OmniSource’s leader, he spearheaded the integration of OmniSource with Steel Dynamics, as well as managed the company’s ferrous and nonferrous scrap operations. In addition, Mark led SDI ferrous-technologies teams creating and implementing both of SDI’s iron-making initiatives—Iron Dynamics and Mesabi Nugget. From 1998 to 2008, Mark was responsible for the company’s flat-roll steel business.

Prior to the formation of Steel Dynamics, Mark was employed by Nucor Corporation for 12 years, beginning his career in the steel industry as a plant metallurgist. He then served in key technical and management roles, including the design, construction, and operation of the melting and casting facility at the world’s first thin-slab flat-roll mini mill at Crawfordsville, Indiana. Mark left Nucor in 1993 to co-found SDI.

Mark earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in metallurgy from the University of Surrey, England


Mr Robert Murray Mr Robert Murray

Vice President, Economic Affairs for McGraw-Hill Construction, a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies.

Bob has been with McGraw-Hill since 1980, and he is the author of the widely circulated McGraw-Hill Construction Outlook. He coordinates the company’s five year forecast product, the Construction Market Forecasting Service, which offers detailed projections of construction activity for the U.S and nine major regions. He is frequently quoted by such major newspapers as the Wall Street Journal on industry developments, and his comments have appeared in Business Week, Engineering News-Record, CNN, and other media outlets. In addition, Bob serves as anchorman for McGraw-Hill's prestigious Construction Industry Outlook Conference, held in Washington each October. He also conducts a series of construction outlook seminars each spring and fall in various cities across the U.S. and Canada.

Bob received his bachelor's degree from Princeton University, and he holds both an M.B.A. and a master's degree in economics from Columbia University.


Mr Matthew Nicely Mr Matthew Nicely

Mr. Pierce has more than two decades of experience in a full range of US international trade actions. He has been lead defense counsel in dozens of trade investigations in the US and other countries, including the European Community, Mexico and Thailand, and also sometimes serves as petitioner's counsel in non-U.S. trade forums. These often high-profile cases have involved myriad industries, including steel, biodiesel, auto and auto parts, television programming, energy, shrimp, rice, electronics, consumer goods and textiles and apparel, in such countries as Japan, Mexico, Canada, Thailand, the European Community, Indonesia, South Africa, China, India, Brazil and Vietnam.

He also leads the litigation and policy aspects of trade cases at the agency, legislative and federal judicial levels, and at the World Trade Organization and NAFTA, including settlement negotiations. His clients include major foreign manufacturers and their US-based operations, foreign governments, U.S. exporters, trading houses, US importers and consuming industries and trade associations.

Mr. Pierce received his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Cornell Law School. He previously served as a legislative assistant to US Senator Patrick Leahy for domestic policy issues.

Mark L. Parr is a Managing Director, Equity Research Analyst, with KeyBanc Capital Markets Inc. (KBCM). With the company since 1987, his research focuses on the metals industry.

Since reviving coverage of the metals and mining industries for KBCM in 1996, Mr. Parr’s work has received broad industry recognition. He was named the #1 metals and mining analyst in the 2007 Institutional Investor poll of regional banks, as well as the top metals and mining earnings estimator for 2007 by Forbes/Starmine. He has earned six Wall Street Journal “Best on the Street” awards for stock picking and estimate accuracy.

Mr. Parr previously covered the specialty chemical and electronics industries for KBCM. Prior to that, he spent five years as Vice President, Equity Analyst with Roulston and Co.

Mr. Parr earned a bachelor’s of science degree in business from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio (1977), a master’s of business administration degree from Kent State University (1982), and became a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) in 1986.


Mr David Phelps Mr David Phelps

David Phelps joined the American Institute for International Steel (AIIS) in 1996 and is responsible for helping the AIIS fulfill its mission to support free trade and economic growth through competition in the steel trade, and to oppose protectionist barriers to trade, including tariffs, non-tariff barriers and subsidies.

Prior to joining AIIS, Mr. Phelps worked as a customs and steel products consultant. He was also an officer at the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), where he was employed for nearly 15 years. His areas of responsibility were customs, transportation, and public policy issues affecting steel market development programs.

Mr. Phelps holds a Master’s of Arts degree in Economics from Virginia Polytechnical Institute and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from George Mason University in Virginia.

Executive Vice President, Scrap Metal Services, LLC

Ralph L. Pinkert is the executive vice president of Scrap Metal Services, LLC (SMS), headquartered in Burnham, IL, responsible for business development and marketing for the company and its subsidiaries, including SMS Mill Services, LLC.

Prior to joining SMS, Pinkert served as the business development director of Management Science Associates Inc.'s (MSA) Metals and Advanced Manufacturing division in Pittsburgh, PA and was instrumental in the development of the Raw Material Data Aggregation Service (RMDAS), an electronic transaction-based ferrous scrap price reporting service and index produced by MSA.

A 40 year veteran of the steel and metals scrap recycling industries, Pinkert began his career with Chicago-based Scrap Corp. of America and later founded and served as president of Scrap Management Corp., Raw Materials Inc. and City Centre Scrap Inc., all based in Chicago. Following the sale of his companies, he became vice president of marketing for Luria Bros. (now PSC Metals Inc.) in Cleveland, and later vice president of marketing and e-business development for Metal Management Inc. (now Sims Metal Management) in Chicago, prior to joining MSA.

Mike Rehwinkel is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Evraz Inc NA, currently headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Since joining Evraz in February 2010, Mr. Rehwinkel has assembled and led a dynamic executive team focused on value creation and a commercially?driven transformation that includes the vertical integration of the company’s tubular, flat rolled and long businesses.

With over 30 years of industrial manufacturing experience, Mr. Rehwinkel brings a wealth of commercial expertise to his position at Evraz. He has held senior management positions in operations, finance, and sales and, most recently in his career, executive positions at Georgia?Pacific LLC, including Senior VP of the company’s packaging business and President of GP Wood Products.

Mr. Rehwinkel received a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from William Carey University, Mississippi, where he also pursued his love of competitive athletics as a power forward on the basketball team. He also completed the advanced management program at Duke University, North Carolina.

Paul Robinson is an economist in IHS Global Insight’s Pricing and Purchasing group. He is a graduate of the George Washington University, where he earned a B.A. in economics and international affairs with a concentration in international economics. He currently works in the ferrous metals division, specializing in raw materials and assisting on the Steel Monthly, Steel Industry Review, and Weekly Pricing Pulse publications.
Paul has spoken about commodities at a number of conferences, including IHS conferences in Monterrey, Mexico (Commodities Outlook: Will Renewed Economic Growth Bring Higher Costs? ) and Mexico City, Mexico (Commodities Outlook: Purchasing Strategies for 2011; Making Sense of Recent Turmoil), as well as the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) conference in Anaheim, CA (Economic Risks To Consider Before Bidding Your Next Contract).


Mr Charles Schmitt Mr Charles Schmitt

Chuck Schmitt is president of SSAB Americas. With more than 25 years experience in the steel industry, he began his career at U.S. Steel tubular division before joining IPSCO in 1990. At IPSCO, he held various leadership roles including a two-year assignment in Washington D.C. at the American Iron and Steel Institute. Later, he was promoted to vice president and general manager of IPSCO Texas. In 2003, he moved to Alabama to head IPSCO’s Southern Business Unit. Schmitt held this role until the 2007 acquisition of IPSCO by Swedish steelmaker SSAB and was promoted to vice president, Southern Business Unit. In 2011, he became SSAB Americas’ president, responsible for directing all commercial and operational activities, as well as the overall financial performance for two steel mills located in Alabama and Iowa; three cut-to-length facilities; and four plate processing operations in the U.S., Canada and Chile.

A fourth-generation steelmaker, Schmitt earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Arlington and is married with two daughters. He also currently serves on the board of directors of the American Iron and Steel Institute, Metals Service Center Industry and the Boys and Girls Club of Alabama.


Mr Mark Schweitzer Mr Mark Schweitzer

Senior VP & Director of Research, Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland

Mark Schweitzer is a senior vice president and the director of research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. He leads the Bank’s Research Department, setting the direction for economic research, selecting and developing staff, and briefing the Bank president prior to meetings of the Federal Open Market Committee of the Federal Reserve System. Dr. Schweitzer’s own research has focused on the macroeconomic impact of labor market developments and the identification of factors contributing to regional economic growth.

Dr. Schweitzer joined the Bank in 1992 as an economist. From 2000 to 2002, he served as a senior economist at the Bank of England. He returned to the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, and in 2004 was promoted to assistant vice president and director of the Regional Economic Issues Program. In 2007, Dr. Schweitzer was appointed vice president and branch executive of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Denver Branch. He was named to his current position in 2008.

An economics graduate of the University of Chicago, Dr. Schweitzer holds both a master's degree and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles. A native of Seattle, Washington, Dr. Schweitzer lives in Shaker Heights, Ohio. He is married and has two daughters and a son.

Director, Standard & Poor’s Corporate Ratings

Ms. Shmaruk, a Director at Standard & Poor’s, is currently responsible for analyzing companies in the Metals & Mining sector.

Prior to joining the company in 2006, she was an analyst at TIAA-CREF for 16 years, covering a range of companies and sectors in both the public and private markets. Previously, she was employed by Banker’s Trust Company and Mellon Bank in a variety of planning, analysis and consulting roles.

Ms. Shmaruk holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She also holds a Master’s of Art in International Affairs from The George Washington University and a Bachelor’s of Art in Humanities from Providence College.


Mr Sandy Simon Mr Sandy Simon

Vice President of Business Development, Pacesetter Steel Service Inc.

Sandy Simon is responsible for executing Pacesetter’s business development strategy. He has over 35 years in progressive executive selling and managerial roles in a variety of industries, including Fortune 500 companies. Twenty-five of those years have been spent in a senior management role.

Mr. Simon, who has been with Pacesetter since 1997, has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining Severstal, Josh was President and Chief Analyst of Steel Reality, a steel market analysis firm providing analytical services to steel producers, manufacturers and financial organizations. Josh has authored This Week in Steel and Leading Steel Indicators, providing analysis on the steel market and the economy including steel supply and demand, weekly steel prices, production, equity markets, steel futures and other economic and industry data. Prior to Steel Reality, Josh was Market Research Manager at Majestic Steel.

Josh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Marketing from Bowling Green State University.


Mr Dan Sullivan Mr Dan Sullivan

Director, Houlihan Lokey - Chicago

Dan Sullivan is a Director in Houlihan Lokey's Chicago office and a senior member of the firm’s Industrials Group. His primary coverage responsibility is the metals industry, including integrated and mini-mill producers, service centers, scrap processors and other raw materials suppliers, fabricators and manufacturers. He has advised on more than 50 transactions at the firm, including sellside and buyside M&A transactions, equity and debt financing and financial restructurings.

Before joining Houlihan Lokey in 2001, Mr. Sullivan worked in M&A, equity capital markets and private finance groups at ABN AMRO and J.P. Morgan. Earlier, he worked as a senior aide to former Virginia Governor, and current U.S. Senator, Mark R. Warner.

Mr. Sullivan received a B.A. in English from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. He serves on the board of directors of the Chicago Children's Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Tony has 25 years of successful strategy consulting experience, mostly in the steel industry. He has worked with senior management teams, chief executive officers, and boards of directors to improve business performance through the development of competitive strategy. In addition to his work with senior managers, Tony has also consulted to investors, unions, and governments.

He has worked for steel companies in North America, South America and Asia and has completed over 100 separate project assignments.

He holds a MA in Economics from Duke University and a BA in Economics from Washington & Jefferson College.


Ms Timna Tanners Ms Timna Tanners

Metals & Mining Analyst, Bank of America - Merrill Lynch

Timna Tanners is the U.S. Metals and Mining analyst for Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she joined in May 2011. Previously she was executive director in the basic materials group of UBS Investment Research, specializing in North American metals and materials and co-coordinating global steel coverage.

She ranked third in the Metals & Mining category by Institutional Investor Magazine in 2008 and was voted best up-and-comer in 2005 and 2006. She was named No. 1 in estimating earnings and No. 3 in stock picking in Metals & Mining by FT/Starmine's 2009 analyst awards. In 2006 she placed second in the Wall Street Journal's Best on the Street stock-picking for mining and metals.

Ms. Tanners joined UBS as an associate analyst in 2002, following steel, mining, and construction materials stocks. Prior to joining UBS, Ms. Tanners was a financial correspondent with Reuters for five years, following oil and mining in the Los Angeles and Mexico City bureaus.

Ms. Tanners has a Master of Business Administration degree from UCLA, a Master of Science degree in journalism from Northwestern University, and a Bachelor’s degree from Pomona College.


Mr Jim Tumulty Mr Jim Tumulty

Senior Managing Director, The Seaport Group

Jim Tumulty is Senior Managing Director and head of Industrial Investment Banking for The Seaport Group. Prior to his current post, Mr. Tumulty served as managing director and head of structured products at Raymond James and Associates.

He has also held a number of management and senior executive positions with firms including Scotia Capital Markets, Paine Webber, Morgan Joseph & Co., Libra Securities and National Westminster Bank. Mr. Tumulty’s career began in 1987 at Drexel Burnham Lambert, where he was Vice President of the International High Yield Bond Department.

A graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, he earned his Juris Doctorate from New York Law School in 1995. Mr. Tumulty is admitted to practice in New Jersey state and attendant federal courts.

Mr Wiggett has been working for Steel Business Briefing since 2003. Initially he was covering price and market developments around the world, but as of October 2004 he has been developing and editing their monthly analytical publication, Global Market Outlook (GMO). This reviews recent market activity and forecasts prices for the key steel products by major consuming regions. He is a regular speaker at international steel conferences, and has also been active in SBB’s External Training programme.

Mark Wiggett has also been working with SBB’s sister company TSI since its inception in 2006, and was involved with the initial development of the steel product specifications. He has continued to contribute as TSI has grown its portfolio, culminating in the launch of iron ore reference prices in November 2008 and the scrap reference prices.

After graduating with an MA in Mathematics from Cambridge University, Mark joined Coutinho, Caro & Co in London as a graduate trainee. His 8 years with the company (now Stemcor) included 3 years based in Khartoum, Sudan, covering East Africa. After 4 ½ years in Hong Kong as General Manager for Industrial Steels Ltd, another international steel trader, Mark returned to London as General Manager for Industrial Steels (UK) Ltd.

Vicente Wright has served as President and Chief Executive Officer at California Steel Industries since July 2008. Prior to assuming responsibility for this position, he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors at CSI. He also served as President and CEO of CSI from February 2003 to June 2004, and also served as Executive VP, Finance, a position he held from February 1998.

At Vale, Mr. Wright held positions as Managing Director of the Iron Ore and Pellet Sales to the Americas and Commercial Administration Department from January 2007 to June 2008. He has served as Managing Director of Rio Doce America, a subsidiary of Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (Vale) located in New York, Steel Division General Manager and Iron Ore Sales General Manager. Mr. Wright was the Purchasing Executive and Slab Marketing Manager at CST. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of CSN, Acominas and Siderar, and of SEAS, a ferro-manganese plant. He served as Chairman of Nova Era Silicon, a ferro-silicon mill.

Mr. Wright graduated from Marquette University, Wisconsin, with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
