More about this map
Mexico is Latin America's second largest steel producer and consumes almost the same tonnage of steel as Brazil. The country's steel mills have a very close relationship with the US market, with companies like Ternium, ICH and Deacero having subsidiaries in the US. Mexico is also a huge steel importer with most imports made by the 41 service centres detailed in this high quality map.
At a glance you will also be able to see the relative concentration of crude steel plants around the area. Closer inspection provides an understanding of each mill’s steel production and capacity.
