New for 2010 from SBB is the Russia, Ukraine and CIS Map. This contains the latest information about the Russian and also Ukrainian regions.
Russia is one of the world’s largest steel producers (3rd in 2009) and net exporter of steel and raw materials, such as iron ore. It has extensive reserves of coal and iron ore, some of which are still unexplored, which provides outstanding opportunities for growth. This high quality map shows 79 steel mills covering the entire region.
At a glance you will also be able to see the relative concentration of crude steel plants around the area. Closer inspection provides an understanding of each mill’s steel production and capacity.
