Argentina was one of the most affected countries by the credit crunch in 2008. Prices and local demand slumped, and even when neighbouring countries commenced to see improvements on their markets, by the end of the first half last year, Argentinean steel sellers and buyers were still saying conditions were not that good.

Prices now are picking up and "frozen" projects have been returning to the spotlight. Steel men within the country are still prudence although market fundamentals show signs of improvement and stability. However, for the next quarters sentiment will probably better as local mills and processors see a sustainable demand is back.
